[ The thunderstorm may have been too much for Aether, but peaceful rain easily lures him out of his house and into Luceti's streets. An occasional swim in the lake may have been nice, but it's the open rainfall that calms him the most and helps him gather his thoughts. It reminds him of home, of the many days he has spent traveling through the ( Read more... )

[Frey's out taking a walk as well, though really he's heading to the store. He has his rain cloak on, though, so he's mostly protected aside from his head, which he's actually enjoying feeling the rain on.

He pauses, though, when he spots Aether just... standing there.]

[ It doesn't take long for Aether to realize he's being stared at. His eyes crack open slightly before his head cants to the side. The expression Frey earns in the end is dull, almost sleepy. ]

Ah... it's you.

[ His nod sends his head forward and straightens out his posture. ]

[She's managed to find herself an umbrella, a rain slicker, and some boots since her arrival. The rain doesn't bother her; in fact, she seems to be enjoying a leisurely walk through town. But the man standing alone and getting soaked through to the skin doesn't escape her notice. She skirts a little closer.]

I'm sorry to interrupt, but-

Do you need an umbrella? This coat is really nice and it has a hood and everything, so I don't mind if you taken mine!

[As if to prove her point, she shifts her groceries to one arm and flips up her hood, then collapses her umbrella, shaking a bit of the rain from it.]

Hm..?

[ It takes a few moments for Aether to realize that yes, she's talking to him, and he opens his eyes--just in time for one stray droplet to hit his eye. A pained hiss escapes his throat as his hand lands onto his face.

So much for enjoying the rain. ]

No, I--I'm fine. [ He doesn't sound very fine now. ] I was just enjoying the rain.

[Even if he says that, it's hard not to see the irritation when the droplet hits his eye. His voice says about the same, if not in words, certainly in tone.]

Are you sure? I'm not using this one. Besides, I wanted to splash some puddles on the way home. Please go ahead!

[She smiles, still holding out the umbrella, groceries in her other arm.]

Really, I'm fine.

[ He answers with a short step back that brings him back into the downpour. What's with this girl? He knows about the concept of being helpful, but this is just overdoing it. ]

My body is the kind that feels healthier in the rain. I shall be fine.
