Ooh the Ibteda is one of my favorites too. :)

Two shers that I really really love from the Ibteda are:

Jalaa hai jism jahaan dil bhi jal gaya hoga
Kuredte ho jo ab raakh, justjoo kya hai

Rahi na taaqat-e-guftaar, aur agar ho bhi
Toh kis umeed pe kahiye ke aarzoo kya hai?

I have not yet bothered to listen to ghazals, but well this post is making me think about it again... but the fact is you need to understand the lyrics, right??? Anyways, worth trying...

Yes, give it a try. The thing with me is I was hooked onto listening to ghazals right from childhood so I cannot really imagine my life without them. :)

O and if u need help with the lyrics, let me know. I should be able to help u with it. :)

Muzaffar is the name of the poet/shayar. The name of the poet appears in the makhta or the last couplet of the ghazal.

U will also see that in the fourth couplet I have mentioned here, where Ghalib's name appears. That is the makhta of that particular ghazal. :)
