Permaculture Principle 11: Use Edges and Value the Marginal

In science as with gardening, the principle that there's always greater, more vigorous growth at the edges of the zone than the centre seems to hold true. What also seems to hold true for both is that what grows there isn't always expected, and can cause great confusion and discomfort.

The Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research Group I thought lost its funding nearly ten years ago. It had been staffed by my future husband's then girlfriend and her other lover. She was a scientifoic copyright editor and he created devices that generated TRULY random events, so that observers' effects on them could be measured. We still have at least two of their publications.
