A wise man once said, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." In this case I would say, "If SHE DOESN'T say anything nice, don't say anything in reply." You should just not speak if she goes into one of those "NO NO NO" shpeals. Insead you should remain silent but continue to look at her (but not in the eye, never look wild animals directly in the eye). Make her answer her own questions. Silence can be golden, but so are solutions.
