When I think about how often during this year and last I've been depressed, it connects me with how low an opinion I had about myself when I was a child and an adolescent. 1.) The drugs only help to make your mind settle down enough to work on the problems. It doesn't make them go away.

2.) You are bonkers: You are beautiful. You have a lovely baby and a lovely marriage. You are a brilliant woman and competent architect. Why the steaming @#$%*7 would you hold yourself in low esteem?

I was going to comment the three things above. But I will add something.

I think sometimes revisiting our lives means that we will re-encounter those painful moments where it hits too near the bone. And sometimes when we are currently feeling bad, the memories take an even bigger effect. The key, I think, is when we decide what to do from then on. Sometimes, focusing on the immediate sense, like you, yourself say, is a necessary process.
