What about trying a new type of excersize? dakini_bones January 11 2009, 22:16:14 UTC
Swimming or yoga?
Belly dance?
Something more interval-ish that you can slow or speed up moment to moment.
Doing something new can be a good workout at a much lower intensity because it challenges your muscles out of their routine.
Also, belly dance is FOR helping strengthening all the birth muscles!

Well, do, up to a point, also listen to your body and do not over-stress yourself now. Your body is your own; but you are now responsible for another body and developing mind that are entirely dependent on you. So some amount of compromise is OK; because you want to give that body the best possible start in life.

I used to have a 23-inch waist once upon a time; but I realized that a few extra inches don't really matter as long as I am *reasonably* fit and agile. I have lowered the bar, and am more comfortable overall as a result. But then, my age is much higher than yours. But still, I did not have the stress of a full-time job.

I don't think you fall into the lazy fat ass category. The fact that you have what it takes to push yourself speaks volumes about you.

Peace!
