Communication, the U.S. & growth

kevinmiles challenged me on my post some weeks ago regarding thoughts of U.S. and Indian life (I re-wrote it more critically). In thinking about his response and talking with chaibacca, I am learning some valuable things. I tend to communicate harshly and sourly, and I am disappointed with myself for not recognizing it. At times, you've been very harsh to India and Indians. I think sometimes we tend to generalize a particular situation where generalization isn't warranted.

Hmm, perhaps. Critics tell me that I am unfairly harsh to the U.S. which I can readily believe, given that I've lived much of my adult life here. Having had to forge my life here, I'm intimately aware of the frustrations of U.S. life, but I have a more rose tinted picture of life in India - the India I tend to see more during relaxing vacations.

Yes, I may tend to generalize where it's not warranted, but I think we do this because we're all trying to build our world view and extend our observations / anecdotes to creating it.
