Congrats for this! I knew you would get in a good place. And it is better when it is for a good cause.

BTW, what sources do you recommend for iron when it comes to running? They say you have to take a lot of iron to run, which we Vegetarians need to pay especial attention to. (I will post that in my next LJ entry)

Peace!

Pekky

Never knew anything about iron and running. I ocassionally take a multi vitamin supplement which includes some iron, but this is just for general health. I don't do anything special in terms of my diet to run. Only I make sure to eat carbs before long distances and no alcohol.

why did you delete my comment?

I love the word "jingchak" as much as the word "chungjakka"...both mean the same thing....so I will continue to use "jingchak"..even in this I will not be your jingchak or your chungjakka!

Both words, unfailingly, make me laugh so much that even if I contain the sound of my laughter, the smile cannot be stopped...!

"jingchak", "chungjakka", what's that mean?

Just like, during a bhajan, the person using the brass cymbals simply echoes the beat and is careful never to "disagree"...we call people who *always* echo someone else's sentiments a "jingchak" or "chungjukka" (that is the sound of the cymbals being struck together, if you can visualize that!) It means, essentially as Wodehouse would classify them...a Yes Man or a Nodder.

Hah! Hah! Now that totally makes sense:-) Even the sound is correctly spelt (now that I know what it is;-))

And I asked you how you got all those statistics...are they given to you at the end of the race? Do tell me.

Your rank says 491, not 496.

And that still doesn't tell me when and where they gave you these statistics...after coming home, you get them off the net? You are sent an email after a day or so when things have been calculated?

Compare with no 491 on the men's list:

491 KEVIN EUTON O'FALLON MO 24 41 M 20-24 1:54:14 1:54:55 00:41 8:43/

Just a matter of ten minutes over the distance..you are really fit!

The statistics changed, wow. Looks like a lot more people ran than the initial results showed.

When I ran, I set my timer, so I knew that I was at 2hrs and 5 mins. Also, the race started at 7am. So the finish line showed 2 hrs & 9 mins (meaning to say that by the time my electronic chip was detected at the start line, I had been trying to weave my way through the starting crowd for 4 full minutes). That evening after we returned from the football game, the results were already available on the website.

And now they've been updated and I have to recalculate.

Well....I don't really care about the time taken, the placement...two things are important, no, three:

1. You ran for Asha and raised some money for them

2. You are fit enough to run a half-marathon

3. You still had time to notice everyone else and details about them, and share it with us

We are proud of you....

Though the timing is very cool too... :)
Congratulations!
