That's not to say that if I don't care to talk much on a topic it's because I'm closed to new ideas or thoughts on the subject. Just that I feel greater need to express things in various ways (shock value ( Read more... )

I think you are still interested... I don't see that you care less either, but then I am not in your head.

I guess it is part of evolution and maturity when you decide to chill about things in yourself. I don't think that is bad (in fact, I dream of being in that place), as long as you are aware that the need/will to change and improve will always be there. Life always introduce new challenges and circumstances that make you take a hard look at yourself and your life.

In Economix, there's the concept of Utility; the more (of a good) you consume, the less of it you would want. As some people (i.e., people like you, and UNLIKE the people who vote for the Repubicans, pun intended!) age, they live and explore life broadly, they experience more, they think more and they begin to hit a point where there's not much of a wild-eyed-surprise about anything any more, due to the relatively deep experience-base. That's the good end of things. On the other side, you'd also recognize the fact that there's only so much you can do, about anything. 'Individuals' really do not matter much, the society is totally steered by Corporations, loobyists, etc. So, a sense of resignation also sets in. That's the bad part. And, If you ever figure out how to overcome this sense of resignation, let me know!

PS: Listen to Bob Seager? 'When I was young and strong, I was running against the wind...' and 'Fire down below...'
