Aww, I really liked that! There were all these fantastic little touches--both of them not remembering hanging out with Claudia, Kristy being freaked that she didn't know Mary Anne drank coffee and clinging harder because of it, Mal turning out pretty, the teensy hints at Dawn/Stacey--that really made it go from being just a story to being a whole experience. I felt like I was there, in Kristy's fog with her. And I can totally see Mary Anne coming out of middle school and the fire siutation with a newfound confidence and independence and needing to break away from Kristy for awhile.

For what it's worth, I think Kristy is very in character. Slightly changed since eighth grade, but due to time, not due to being OOC. The graduation Friends Forever book, especially, shows how much Kristy needed everyone else and suggested that she was really going to falter as they grew apart.

Beautiful story. I'm sorry about the hard drive crash (yikes) but I'm glad you had time to write this and posted it. I loved it.

Thank you! I actually have read very few of the later books, I just thought this seemed realistic. And Dawn/Stacey is one of my new loves, so I had to throw that in there. And Mal is just... I have always enjoyed her. I'm so glad you enjoyed, thank you. I had to rewrite this today, but I like this second attempt better.

And the only way that icon would be better is if it were my Shogan. Just sayin'. ;)

I don't think I ever would have considered Dawn/Stacey, but even just pointing out that they both had the move away/move back thing in common got me thinking. But yes, I really enjoyed it very much!

Shogan (or really, Sho+almost anyone) is always best.

I love your Kristy - she hasn't outgrown her insecurity, I see :) I love that about her.
