words: ~1400
notes: Leslie's feelings about losing her father are something I've craved from the show and wanted to explore in fic for a long time. A work in progress by ashiswriting reminded me of these feelings and compelled me to finally write it. This ( Read more... )

I love every single thing about this fic. I have a lot of feelings on this topic, and so much of this matches up with my own head canon, and all of it just perfect.

(But maybe especially the Harvest Fest section.)

I love the way you explore this topic in your fics too! I want to hear everyone's perspectives and head canons. Like in my mind, Leslie got her love for government, her stubbornness, and her determination from her mom -- but she got her enthusiasm, dreaminess, and love of parks from her dad. I have all the feelings forever. Thanks for reading and enjoyinggg <3

This made me teary-eyed. Losing a father is the worst, in fiction and in real life. Lovely work.

It was really hard to even imagine losing a parent while writing this, I have no idea how I'd go through with it. Thanks so much <3

UGH GO AND BREAK MY HEART WHY DON'T YOU.

She never stopped hoarding memories after that.

I loved this line. If this were canon, I think it would explain a lot about Leslie - her old house and all its clutter, the scrapbooking, the anniversaries, etc.

Nice job :)

Yeah, I feel like something would have jolted her into being so desperate to hold onto memories. This always fit in my mind :) Thanks for reading!
