This is a lovely little fic. This scene rings true to cannon. I would have loved to see a moment like this on the show. Your characterization of both Arthur and Gwen was spot on. I look forward to reading more of you Merlin fics and hope you continue. Well done.

Oh, this is wonderful! I think your characterization is SPOT on, and I really like how you make Arthur more vulnerable (as he usually is in the presence of Gwen). This line really stands out to me:

She has been on her toes to reach him and as he turns she drops down delicately down onto her feet, small again before him.

It's very true of their relationship! Gwen often rises to new heights whenever she's around him, but she quickly remembers her place and backs down. Oh, Gwen...
