Rien was coming over. She was coming over, and they were going to watch a movie. And eat dinner. It was like a date, even more like a date than going to the phaser range and teaching her how to shoot

Rien had used the time to paint her nails. Just a pretty pink. Nothing slutty like a Romulan whore or anything. Her mother had taught her better than that.
When the door opened, she smiled up at Travis. He looked a little red in the face, not like angry but maybe he had gotten some bad news or rushed to meet her.
That was actually kind of a nice thought.
He moved to let her in and Rien surveyed the room out of self-protective habit. It was almost identical to the room she shared with Chapel except it was... messy. And a little smelly. Like it didn't get a lot of air.
It wasn't too bad though and she was being polite.
She smoothed her nervous hands down the front of her skirt. "How was your shift?"
She fidgeted. "I'm okay. One of the doctors we don't like came in, Chapel told me, and made a scene so I'm glad I wasn't there for that. I just had to give vaccinations to Engineering."
The room was kind of plain, not much in the way of decoration or personal effects. She had kind of been hoping for a picture of the farm Travis had mentioned.
"Are you, um, hungry? Or do you want to watch the movie first?"
"I'm always hungry," Harris said. "But not in like a freakish way or something," he added hastily. "Just I got a fast metabolism, is what my mom used to say. And that I grew like a weed, but I stopped that a couple few years ago, so that's no excuse anymore."
He cleared off the top of his and Park's little table-cum-desk thing as he spoke - oh, there was that fourth sock - and sort of shined it a little bit with his sleeve.
