Smart show!

One of the reasons why I like White Collar is because it usually plays fair on the cons. Like with murder mysteries, one of my criteria for a good con/heist story is that all the clues are there on the screen, even if the viewer's eye is cleverly misdirected away from them so that you don't notice them except in retrospect.

Oh, that is brilliant! I love that they take that much attention to detail.

I know! I've noticed similar things in a few past episodes -- like in "Vital Signs", you actually do see Neal start to slip the cuffs off his wrists long before Peter shows up. But usually these things are happening in the background of other action, so you don't notice them the first time around.

It's interesting that they did show Neal handing the diamond over to Peter. I never noticed it and when Peter pulled it out of his pocket I was delightedly surprised. It doesn't usually bother me if I don't see these little details.

I know! I didn't notice any of that the first time around (well, except Neal picking up the rock, but only because there was a closeup on it). I love how it's all there, but it's subtle and/or hidden, so that you have to rewatch in order to pick up on it.

Clever! I admit I am hopeless at that sort of sneaky mystery details (I have yet to ever get a whodunit right) but I do like it when the creator plays fair.

I am pretty bad at figuring it out as I go along, but I like going back to look at how the clues were placed. :)

Didn't catch the second bit, but I caught the switch from the diamond to the brick and felt like such a BOSS. Shall rewatch and see if I can catch the handoff to Peter :DDD

NICE! That's a hard one to pick up; even knowing that it happened at some point during that scene, I still had to rewatch more than once to catch it!

Thanks! I didn't catch the handoff to Peter on the first watch though - I think I was shoving food into my face :P

I saw Neal pick up a bit of brick and thought it wouldn't be a very useful weapon. Brilliant Husband told me what it was for, and we both caught the switch, but I missed him handing it to Peter (BH caught it). BH is lots of fun to watch tv with.

Your hubby is sharp! :) The first time I watched the episode, I didn't catch anything except Neal picking up the brick. And even knowing the handoff happened at some point during that scene, I still had to watch multiple times to find it!
