You know, I feel the same way - I like my headcanon so much I don't like anything Kojima does that breaks it. But I like your version.

Yeah, it's like -- I've always loved that MGS is a series that actually lends itself pretty well to internal world building and backstory and awesome switcheroos, and then I go and get all itchy when Kojima does something really decisive with the universe (like, say, HEY ALL PSYCHIC SHIT IS NANOMACHINES ALL ALONG or something.)
