Hmm. I haven't watched Due South in years, but if Patrick were a wolf, Pete would totally insist that he (Patrick) could understand it when Pete talked to him.

However, that makes Pete Fraser in that equation, and I'm nnnnot sure how well that fits.

Yeah, no one in bandom really fits Fraser.

Dief's long suffering/snarkiness fits Patrick, but a lot of Dief's ...peskier qualities map on to Pete.

...after thinking about this for several minutes, I have concluded that if Pete and Patrick got married and had a magical half-wolf baby, that baby would be Diefenbaker.

...you know that in that context, half-wolf implies half-human, right? not-half husky? But I agree. It's definitely a blend.

I *was* just going to type "wolf", but Dief isn't a full wolf! And so I was torn, but decided that Pete and Patrick would love their magical wolf baby no matter what it looked like.
