So Shoesis, the professional cleaner aka the only person I know who flips out over messes that haven't even happened yet, is also on vacation this week -- in Florida. Which frankly has a lot to do with the extra-peachiness mentioned below ( Read more... )

That wouldn't make you a bad daughter or sister or anything, if you decide you need to do that.

I really identify with the tantrums to make a parent take you seriously thing. Your situation is not mine, of course, but I finally realized that nothing would make them take me seriously. Tantrums made them listen to me for a few minutes because they hated conflict, but then it'd go right back to same old same old, and I didn't like myself for throwing those tantrums. I'm at the point now where I just accept they won't take me seriously and work around it. For some reason this is making them throw a lot more tantrums than usual, but c'est la vie. I can't control their behavior, I can only control my own.

I hope everything works out best for you. I know how hard it is not to get drawn into someone else's emotional black hole. *hugs*
