*returns from further web search* So nobody commutes from Milton to Brampton? At least, not by public transit? *sigh*

So yes, I think we're serious about moving. Something has to be done, anyway, because Shoemom is going quietly stir-crazy as things stand. She's a small-town - rural, really - Niagara native who's been doing her level best to keep up ( Read more... )

I was just about to ask, aren't you working in Toronto?, but you're back in Brampton.

It's going to be tough. Just looking at the GO map -- what about Georgetown? Or going north like Orangeville. This is a tough one. You may have to bite the bullet and drive.

I know...I know. Thanks. :)

Yeah, when the Bay and Zellers HOs consolidated I got zapped back to the exact same place I transferred jobs to get away from. Ha bloody ha ha, universe, very funny.

We did think about going north as far as Caledon, but I'm not sure what they've got up there in the way of rentals.

Ah well, it's early days yet, there are still a lot of variables. For one thing, I do know there are some really nice neighborhoods in the Brampton area, and maybe if I try gentle persuasion...

Having moved out of the city myself I know how hard a job this is. In our case we went waaayyy out!

Caledon is very nice, but expensive & there are not a lot of rental properties there. Orangeville to me is just like Mississauga & Brampton without some of the charm.

Brampton does have some lovely old neighbourhoods, my BIL lives on a lovely quiet tree lined street in the Peel Village area & it really is quite nice. Might be a good to start as commuting to work easily has to be a key factor.
