Really, lemme work this for a bit, this is a very big moment for me. I am still quoting Barenaked Ladies lyrics, that is how behind-the-memes I traditionally am. We won't even get into how the only cute guys in my icon collection date back to the Eisenhower era, and frankly weren't all that cute even then (unless we're still counting Dork Cute... Heroes is out. Now it's Merlin. :)

(Er, text on icon meant to be a generally funny quote from Merlin on the show, not to comment on you or your post!)

[giggle] Good, saved me from having to look up 'prat' anyway. (Incidentally, about the icon, does the outfit mean Merlin is now training to be a Jedi?)

Tennyrate, thanks much. I am now off to peruse Shing's collection of hot Merlin pics and call it research.

BTW, if you think that New Who is too ponderously angsty for you I have no complaint with your decision to stick to Who Classic, but I will recommend that you watch Steven Moffat's "Blink" (3x10) from the new series at least. Because it is brilliant and funny and scary in a Hitchcockian way (think The Birds) and quite light on the Doctor himself (as in, he barely appears). It also won a Hugo award and was nominated for a Nebula, so I'm not just blowing air here.

Merlin does not take itself seriously by any means, but it is fun family fare and it is, contrary to popular belief, entirely possible to view it without slash-tinted goggles. I ship Uther/Morgana myself. :D

Ooh, Hitchcock-scary. I am so there. Also, I think I maybe need to get me hither to Merlin, because I am a sucker for cheezy family costume drama...
