Ebisu sat in the uncomfortable hospital chair, mind racing and not exactly comprehending what all was going on. It had happened so fast. That dread that lurked in the darkest points of his mind was trying to keep him from being positive---and it showed.

His hands shook slightly as he tried to keep the tremble down with clasping them together. The little pig would run up under his feet and under the chair from time to time as nurses and docter's filed through. Amazing how animals could sense the same worry as humans.

Shuffling his feet around, his toes felt sticky in the shoes. He hadn't even thought to put socks on. With a heavy sigh, and flicking the shades back down over his eyes, he sat back and waited.

The door swished open again and another man in white walked out. He looked serious and sympathetic. Tonton could smell his mommy all over the man. The piglet squealed in worry and trotted closer to Ebisu. He sat his little bum against the ground and leaned his head against Ebisu’s ankle.

The man walked up towards Ebisu and folded his hands. “Sir. I have information on your wife I’m sure you’d like to hear.”

What was he saying? Tonton wondered.
