It had been a long time, since they had any kind of dance (mainly due to the catastrophe back in the fall). But Shodai was able to now resume course and look ahead. It was a nice break from everything as the year drew to a close.

Taking a deep breath in and out, Sakura entered the large room in a simple red dress. Her hair was up with a pretty cherry blossom comb with a few pink strands hovering over her green eyes. Heart earrings adorned her ears, saved especially for this moment.

Though tonight was a great night to look at the stars from the rooftop (even despite the cold), Sakura would wait until later tonight to do so. For now she wanted to enjoy the dance.

Naruto was half happy and half irritated. He wasn’t all that sure which one to follow with just yet. There was two parts to this night. One; he could go dance and hang out with his friends that he missed dearly and give away white ribbons. Two; stand around and not be able to hear the music very well. At least he could hear faintly now. The rumbling of the dance floor was more felt. He could feel the music notes in his chest. It was better than nothing.

He walked in dressed up pretty nicely. Naruto never spent much time trying to get ready for these sort of things but he managed to get into something that suit him. Of course the only thing that didn’t fit were his shoes but he didn’t mind that much ( ... )

She raised her head, immediately recognizing the loud voice. Whipping her head arounds, the ends of her red flowed with her movement and her green eyes glowed seeing her blonde friend heading right toward her direction. With a large smile, she waved and yelled out back, "Hey Naruto!"

She immediately opened her arms and gave him a hug, "You look great!" she said, mouthing it carefully as she pointing to the outfit, "Very snazzy," she grinned.

And the shoes. Typical. She couldn't help but grin further.

He hugged her tight. When she spoke slowly for him there was a glint of happiness in his eye. She always was really good with him when it came to communicating. Were he’d be without socializing, he didn’t know. He smoothed out his tie, which had taken him forever to do up, quickly and struck a bit of a pose.

“The shoes work, don’t they.” He said back. Naruto still couldn’t hear himself speaking very much but the loud music made his voice reasonable enough.

The blond remembered the little white ribbons in his pocket suddenly and quickly pulled two from his pocket. “Here! Happy Valentines day!” Naruto gave his best charming smile.

This primary color thing was sort of fun. Haku figured since it was a dance he could loosen up and have a little bit of fun. Apparently being Lee's significant other meant that his idea of fun had somehow warped into wearing teal nail polish with the very loud dress. Well, love together, clash together right?

Haku figured that love was rather similar to chocolates. While chocolates rotted your teeth, love rotted your neurons. In his case, whatever neurons regulated color judgment were first to go. He smiled, a little giddy, love was such a strange wonderful thing.

There was a lot red. And pink. And red. And more red. The colors all blinded him. But it was Valentine's Day. Konohamaru was never into these sorts of holidays--too lovey dovey for him, though the only exception were the chocolates. But he usually got little and those were mainly from friends and family. Though this year was a little different and he was surprised that he actually got the amount chocolates and sweets he did and some from girls he didn't even know.

He adjusted his grey-blue blazer and looked at the three white ribbons in his hands. He had no clue what to do with them or who to give them to really. Wasn't white ribbons a St. White's Day tradition? That was in March though, but he assumed they were just combining the two holidays.

He shrugged and stuffed the ribbons in his pocket, before moving to the punch table. He was thirsty.

Walking through the crowd, Hanabi could feel the little objects she had tucked carefully in the belt of her dress. She was quite unsure about the garment she was wearing; Neji hadn't particularly liked it when he had accompanied her shopping. He had muttered something along the lines of 'Uchiha dress' or the like, which didn't make too much sense to her, and she had to consequently placate her cousin with udon. Hanabi rather liked it, just wasn't confident of herself wearing it; yet there was also a satisfaction of wearing something not approved of.

The chocolates were still where she had put them.

Heading to the refreshments was a logical path. Konohamaru soon arrived there, and she smiled at him.

He pushed through the bodies of the growing crowd until he finally found a clearing and breathing space to his destination. Humming, he looked up and his eyes widened slightly as he spotted a familiar figure smiling at him at the punch table--Hanabi to be exact. And she seemed to be in more of a good mood than usual, he observed. And much more so than last time.

He immediately put on a smile as he quickened his pace toward the refreshments, "Hanabi!" he greeted cheerfully with a wave, "Hey! How've you been doing?"

"Konohamaru." She was smiling. There was no particular reason to, but the atmosphere was infectious. She knew from what he was referring to, and her smile flickered. "Better."

The night seemed good, at least better than the normality of everyday. "How is your night?"

She picked up a glass, and suddenly remembered the last time she drunk punch, and frowned, putting the cup down.

Dances. These were fucked up. There was absolutely no reason why he should even be here right now. But he did get his crap together and hauled his ass down here even if he had been just fine smoking up a storm in his bedroom. Zaku even managed to find something to wear in his closet that looked sort of formal. It had been altered much like all his other clothes though. Zaku had that on with a clean black t-shirt underneath and jeans. Okay done.

He was only here cause he knew that if Hinata were to go and he wasn’t there she’d get hit on by a huge amount of assholes. That was unacceptable. He’d have to make sure no one touched her tonight. Plus he wanted to find Temari too.

Zaku pulled the doors open to the gym and walked inside. God. It smelt like paper, glue and sweat in here. His noise winkled in disgust.

She walked into the gymnasium alone, wondering why she was getting used to this again. Being alone. She'd opted to wear something a little more daring, a definite couture dress. She'd gotten tired of playing down her position within the school, and the strapless, empire-waisted dress definitely screamed that she had money. The gold Christian Louboutin wedges didn't prove otherwise, either.

She wasn't sure why she was here, or what she was planning on doing. Things with Shikamaru were...well, they couldn't be much worse, and she was catching crap from the popular girls because of it. Rumour mill and all. She could really care less about them. She supposed she'd decided to make an appearance because she hadn't seen her brothers in a long time. Part of her wanted to work things out with Shikamaru. Part of her wanted to see Zaku. Part of her wanted to run from this place crying and lock herself in her room.

He spotted one of the girls actually very quickly. Out of the corner of his eye Zaku could see Temari walking in looking as rich as ever. There was a slight emotion that flickered in his eyes when he saw her but he quickly let his smirk fall to his lips and walked over.

She wasn’t with that dick Shikamaru either. This was a plus.

Zaku walked up calmly behind her and approaching put his arm around her casually and pulled out one of those silly little white ribbons from his pocket.

“Want it?” He greeted, still smirking.

She glanced over her shoulder to see Zaku behind her, arm around her shoulders and a white ribbon in his hand, grin firmly planted on his face. "Do I?" she replied quickly, an eyebrow raising as her attitude challenged his.

She wasn't sure about the traditions of the ribbon, as White Day was never really celebrated in Suna, much like every other holiday. She'd looked it up and came to enough conclusions on her own, but she still wasn't sure why Zaku would want to give one to her in particular.

"What's the catch?" she asked him, a more questioning look invading her cocky features.

“You get some shitty candy in the end I think.” Zaku replied, laughing slightly, “Supposed to give them to girls we think are hot.” With that he put the ribbon in her hand making himself a little closer.

He didn’t know what it was with him that made him want to do this. There was some sort of stressed out aura that Temari gave off and included with that he wanted to be around someone. With Kin and Dosu gone Zaku had been bored. It also seemed that since Hinata and him had spent that night together things had changed.

What better to do but to do something that would keep him-- himself. He was really getting edgy. He needed to so something destructive. “Want to dance?”
