"Charging ahead blindly only works when you have a goal." That sounds kinda wise, doesn't it... Personally I'm the charging ahead type, but I was always charging ahead on a narrow line. That's a good metaphor, isn't it? I've decided to stop trying to force it. If I'm really apparently so mature and not-seventeenlike, I can't ruin it by acting

I'll find out as soon as I talk to Dr. Weaver.

There's not a huge rush.

I know, but I'd really like to know. There's someone else whose chip I promised to take out ages ago, and it'd be nice if I was close to getting my own removed.

Well, that's true. But I can't say for sure either way, so.

It's still worth looking into. There's been enough time, I wouldn't be surprised if they know.

Yeah, it has been a while, hasn't it? They might be keeping quiet about it for a reason...

That's what I'm guessing. I think it's what usually happens...

It's not a bad plan... keeping it a secret. Hm...

Yeah... This chip thing can be really tricky and stressful. When I was first started working with them, we'd just seek out people we knew would be useful and have them promise to lay low. That's how I got mine out - I'd mentioned having healing abilities.

That makes a lot more sense. Powers are dangerous. But it makes me feel bad about asking...

As long as you're not going to abuse the information or your power, I see nothing wrong with it. I wouldn't agree to this if I didn't think you getting your abilities back would be beneficial to everyone.

You don't even have to tell me where it is, if you find out and take mine out. I heal really fast; I might not be able to tell. And while I'm grateful, and don't mean to make you change your mind, you don't know it will be a benefit, or that I'm not lying. For all you know, I'm evil. For that reason, I can see why it's better to refuse.

I don't think a leader could ever work well here, no matter who it is. We all come from completely different backrounds and have different ideals on how everything should be solved. Like... I come from a shinobi village, so my idea of government is very different than what a lot of people here know. However, I do believe having a diverse council of trustworthy authority figures could be useful.
It's alright, I'm not worried about that. As for you being evil... It's always a possibility, huh? You could say the same about pretty much everyone else though, and it'd be impractical to deny everyone because of the slight chance they could be secretly crazy.

Actually, in a way, I guess it could be practical to deny everyone. Just not very popular.

Some of the most dangerous killers we've had were able to remove their chips themselves somehow. In that situation, they'd have a distinct advantage over people who could fend them off in an emergency. Plus, there's always the monsters. The way things are, we have a lot of people to defend everyone if something goes wrong.
