Barbara, Mum and I went into the city today because we haven't actually had a day out together in ages. I had a really great time. We got Hot Chocolate, went into Borders, looked at cute home decorating shops, clothes and all sort of schtuff. I keep forgetting that when it's summer here it's winter in Australia. At first I was like "why the hell would you want hot chocolate in the middle of summer?" But then I was like "oh yeah."
And I, for one, hope that a pirate clothing fad happens. It'd be awesome to be able to dress like a pirate and not look like a weirdo.

Oh, we get down to -30° C during winter occasionally, but it's usually only around 0°. The snow is the bad part, it makes a huge mess and almost always comes down at least a little.
I wouldn't doubt that your summers are really evil, what with the geographic location and what have you.
