I knew as soon as the air bags deployed that the insurance company would total the car. And it did. In June, we put $1700 into the car to get it fixed... and we're getting $1700 for the car. At least we're not getting less than we put into it

I'd offer the Scion until we were back from D*C, but that's not going to do you much good with the rental.

We have a Saturn wagon that we don't use very much but it is at over 140k miles and has entered its "quirky" years.
