(Oh, I've missed this place. No anoning, because I've parted ways with most of my shame since last I posted. :D)
H/W (with eventual, optional H/W/Mary)
After Watson puts an end to the Holmes-torture by dropping a tower on it, and after he has that gentle little moment with Holmes, but before they get the hell out of there, Watson locates Moriarty where he's trapped and ends him, violently.
As there's no need for further planning and scheming, their time in Switzerland at Mycroft's is instead spent in quiet, sweet recovery, proper treatment of Holmes' injuries, and a necessary alternative to sex-havin', what with the whole ghastly hook injury handicap. I'm thinking "kissing where it hurts" happens, myself, but I'm flexible.
If author is down with OT3, I would love it if Mary joined them at that point, but H/W will also do.

I really like this idea. :)
Though I don't know that it would be *quite* that easy--Moran is a force to be reckoned with and I'd imagine he'd be bent on revenge, plus I think the assassination attempt would still go forward, since Moriarty's presence isn't a necessary part of that (according to the way my brain worked it all out, anyway ;) ). So there'd probably still be some further planning and scheming.
Also, now you have me thinking that Mary probably traveled with Mycroft at least part of the way to Switzerland--after all, he can't just leave her alone at his estate, it's not respectable. ;)
...I have, perhaps, given this far too much thought already. :-p
(If I were to take a shot at this, where would you want it to begin? Is it necessary to include the actual ending of Moriarty or can it occur off-screen, so to speak?)

The evil sick vengeful part of me would reeeeally like to see Watson get his hands on Moriarty. Not that I think he'd drag it out with Holmes needing his attention, but I think he'd make it hurt. Like maybe that hook would find its final resting place somewhere other than the floor. (My brain is a dark, dark place.)
Realistically, of course, I agree about the need for some additional heroics to stop that particular runaway train, but for the sake of h/c and gentle porniness, I'm willing to overlook reality. :) They can even still make their getaway from Moran on the train -- I would love me some more time and attention on H/W in the train.
Mostly what I'm looking for is an AU torture scene that leads to Moriarty's ugly death at BAMF Watson's beautiful, blood-soaked hands and Watson( and ideally Mary, 'cause I love her_ )dishing out some serious h/c to Holmes instead of the heart-trouncing events of Reichenbach.

I've finally finished my crack at this prompt, such as it is. :) I did take a few liberties with the prompt (I couldn't leave out dealing with Moran, but that leads to more h/c, so...).
