I'm surprised by how much I actually did understand of the dialogue in the raw. I guess long term exposure to subbed anime does help in comprehension. I missed some of the more complicated stuff I'm certain, but I got the general gist of the whole thing. Besides, akayuki's summary usually helps to fill in the gaps. Hehe

What are you talking about? Otoboku? But there are so many Chinese subs....

Chinese subs make my head spin. I have no idea why. But it takes me longer to process the chinese subs in my head, and that makes it hard for me to focus on what's going on in the show. Besides, it's not like I don't understand what the raw is trying to tell me...which is sad, since it tells me how much of an otaku I'm becoming, what with all the Japanese I'm picking up, butchered or not. >_

I might have experienced that once, but no longer. ;) One year of practice has surprising results. Hm, I suppose the language is not the technical kind.

However you are aware that learning Japanese from anime is the equivalent of Japanese learning english from Southpark..

Yes I know that. I never said I was learning the whole Japanese language from watching anime, just that I could comprehend what was going on in between the dialogue that I mostly couldn't understand and the pictures. Haha. But the scary thing is that after awhile I do get what they're saying...in a very roundabout way. :S
