wouldn't have it any other way sooyoung/sehun | pg-13 | ~900w
crack | a day in the life of siblings!sooyoung/sehun. hooray.

“get up, fathead.” sooyoung’s voice resounds through the room as she bustles through it, bulldozing through sehun’s piles of teenage-boy shit and flinging the grimy blue curtains open. “you’re seriously disgusting, it’s like eleven in the morning and you’re still asleep -“

“what the - SIS, WOULD YOU GET OUT? what the fuck happened to privacy,” sehun groans, throwing a terribly skinny, milky-white arm over eyes still crusted with sleep. his legs thrash around in frustration under the blanket as he mutters disgruntledly, “11am is nothing, I normally wake up at like, 5pm. that’s early for me actually.”

“privacy doesn’t exist when you live in the same house as me,” sooyoung replies cheerfully as she stalks over to sehun’s closet and begins pawing through the racks to search for a presentable outfit. “why are all your clothes shit?” she deadpans at sehun as she pulls out t-shirt after t-shirt depicting logos of emo goth bands and skinny jeans so tight she wonders what sehun was thinking when he bought them.

now, bear in mind that sooyoung is a brutally honest, straightforward girl who speaks her mind 99% of the time (and that rare 1% is reserved for serious times when actual tact is required), so her mouth doesn’t actually have much of a filter. this is why the questions she asks and things she says often tend to be rather frank, and the way she says them shameless and unreserved.

“why are all your jeans so tight,” she mutters as she shakes a groaning sehun roughly. “do you even have a dick, isn’t it uncomfortable? I mean, I imagine it must be, right, unless you’re some freak of nature we don’t know about. would you please answer me!” she shrieks at an extremely embarrassed sehun who’s burrowed even deeper under the covers, trying to hide away from his monster of an older sister.

“would you please go away and give me five minutes to restore my wounded dignity,” sehun lifts the blanket just a tiny little corner so sooyoung can hear him. “I’m definitely awake, thanks, and yes I do have a dick, okay.” the last part of the sentence is glaring and pointed, but sooyoung chooses to ignore sehun’s wrath being directed at her and flits off to the door.

“okay! get up and get dressed, we leave the house in fifteen minutes.”

“what the fuck,” sehun groans as he flops back onto the bed. today’s going to be a long day, definitely.

“where are we going,” sehun grouses as they board the bus and rove around looking for a seat.

“why are you so unemotional even when you’re complaining?” sooyoung replies, dragging sehun along with her after spotting two seats conveniently side by side. “anyway, we’re going to the supermarket, it’s mom and dad’s twentieth anniversary or something and I thought it’d be nice to bake them a cake.”

“you can’t even bake,” sehun bitches, obviously still sore about the jibe about his dick from the morning. “remember that time when you tried to make cookies for your class and set off the smoke alarm? yeah, point proven.”

“I can totally bake!” sooyoung yells indignantly to the stares of fellow passengers sitting nearby. “that was an accident.”

“sure, sis,” sehun rolls his eyes and says, plugging his headphones into his phone and putting them on. “whatever you say.”

sooyoung spends the rest of the ride listening to heavy metal (even though sehun’s wearing headphones) and throwing dirty looks at her brother.

shit pretty much happens at the supermarket.

“sehun, can you go get the flour?”

“ ಠ_ಠ "

“sehun, can you go get cheese?”

“ ಠ_ಠ “

“sehun can you - for the love of god, can you please stop grabbing irrelevant things like chips and coke?! I don’t have enough money for all of your stuff, okay, you’ll have to pay for it by yourself.”

“…damn.”

if the supermarket trip was a disaster, the baking of the cake is even more so.

“do you want to help with the cake?”

“only if you don’t blow up the whole kitchen.”

“… you know I can’t make promises like that.”

sehun still helps anyway, because apparently he’s ‘really bored and jamming to music in my room just doesn’t seem to cut it’. sooyoung thinks he’s actually just a big awkward softie under that grouchy exterior, but she smiles to herself and files that thought away for later to tease him about it. they have fun beating the eggs and mixing the batter together anyway, something they haven’t exactly done together in ages, so the day isn’t that wasted after all.

sooyoung thinks the expressions on their parents’ faces when they see the cake are worth all the trouble she and sehun went through. sehun looks impassive, but then again that’s his default face and she can see a tiny little smile at the corner of his mouth. more evidence to the big awkward softie theory, she notes to herself as she feels an intense rush of affection for her stupid younger brother.

“the cake is really good, what did you guys put in it?” her mother asks after sampling her first bite.

“sooyoung peed in it,” sehun answers, and sooyoung finds herself chasing him around the kitchen while threatening to beat him to pieces, the rush of affection from before somehow mysteriously gone.
