I can't explain exactly what it is, but when I lost them, I was unable to do anything right. I couldn't clean properly, couldn't cook right, wasn't able to keep Nagi entertained, I kept breaking things, I was no longer able to fight, and couldn't protect Nagi.

Of course. A butler has to be able to protect their master from those that would harm them, or those that would kidnap them for ransom, or those who would use giant robots to try and destroy them.
