Welcome to the community! And you come bearing fic??? *spazzes*
Loved the first one-- makes me think of dark nights and darker dreams... the Nightmare Hunt, and the five spectral women. And a weeping Queen who sees her daughter and friends corrupted beyond belief. I absolutely fell in love with it.
The other 4 were also spectacular: can we bribe you to write more? :-)
That was the type of feeling I was trying for with that first one, a kind of dark fairy tale/folk tale feel. I'm glad it came across.
And you don't need to resort to bribery to make me write more. I already have a couple of stories I'm working on, a short Venus/Kunzite end of the Silver Millennium piece and a much longer 'What if?' piece that splits off the normal timeline very early on in the Dark Kingdom storyline. (And the 'What if?' one's threatening sequels... *sighs*) Not sure when I'll have any of that ready to post, though, my writing output tends to be sporadic.
But I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more writing from you. ;^) The stories you've posted here are very amusing, and I'm definitely looking forward to more of the Ami/Zoi story you're working on with Thalia.
Very interesting 'what if' scenarios, all of which are intriguing, especially the first two. My favourite was probably the fourth one, however, as I believe that even if the shitennou had stayed good, they wouldn't have been able to do much.
Yes, there's only so much a handful of warriors can do against the armies of an entire world backed by the might of an evil demon, even if said handful of warriors have powerful magic on their side.
And unlike most Senshi/Shitennou writers, I don't think any of the pairs actually really met each other in peaceful circumstances during the Silver Millenium other than Venus and Kunzite, and, well, I'm writing a story about how that ended up not working out well. So the fourth scenario is my take on what would have happened if they had all met up and fallen in love prior to Metallia rearing her ugly head.
One of the nice things about the Five Things... concept is that it's a good outlet for plotbunnies that are all premise and no plot, or scenarios that are too close to another idea that I'm actually planning on fleshing out fully for me to want to flesh it out as well.
BTW, love what you've written so far of 'The Exiles', looking forward to reading more of that when you get it written.
Thanks very much. :) Chapter Six is with the beta reader at the moment, it should be finished this weekend. I'll put some announcements in my LJ and this one when it's posted.
Ah HA! Another person that feels Athena is a better suited name for Jupiter and Metis is Mercury. *Does a little victory dance*
A-hem. Anyways lovely to have a new writer and lovely to see so many possible solutions. I'd be intersted to see the less than beautiful verisons of the Senshi and Shitennou meeting. Because I too don't think it was all roses and poetry.
I definatly hope to see more of you and your work ^^
*smiles* Neither Jupiter or Mercury captures all of the complexity of the mythological Athena's diverse set of attributes, but Jupiter comes a lot closer. Mercury's just too peaceful to be identified with a goddess with such definite war aspects to her. (I'm preaching to the choir here, I know...)
I'm afraid my version of the Senshi and Shitennou meeting in the Silver Millenium is rather... short, because other than Venus and Kunzite they simply don't meet until the attack on the Moon, and then they're rather busy killing each other. And the Venus/Kunzite story I've got planned is from Venus's perspective and she dies fairly early, so most of the actual battle won't be seen... Maybe I'll do a short piece showing how they all die, though, or work it into another story as flashbacks.
And thank you for your kind words of encouragement. I hope my future stories won't disappoint. ;^)
These were all wonderful. My favorites were probably the first two - the dark fairy tale worked indeed, & "wrath of a hundred hells" is still echoing in my head for some reason. Such different viewpoints beautifully exectued!
I'm glad you liked them. :^) Everyone seems to like the first one. I may end up writing more in that universe, it's an intriguing setup and my mind is threatening to develop an actual plot for it...
I always find it fun to look at a sequence of events in a story and go, "What would happen if I changed this?" And I think I ended up with a good mix of contrast between the seperate sections on the one hand and a kind of thematic progression on the other from each piece to the next on the other.
man i loved them all with the 5th being my favorite by far... what can i say im a sucker for happy endings (esp considering all the stuff the girls and boys go through...they need a break every once in a while)... sqeee!!!!!
umm yea... didnt mention above but after reading this i was reminded lynnwood fic "promises" or "promises broken and kept".. yea i dont know how that connection happened.... *blushes* but i was wondering if anyone know what happened to the fic? thanxs..
I like happy endings, too, although I like it best if they have to work some for their happy ending, at least in stories of any significant length. Pure fluff, like pure angst, is best saved for one shots; Either extreme on its own gets to be too much after awhile. And I'm happy that you enjoyed the little snippets. :^)
As far as your question below goes, I haven't ever read that story, so I have no clue, unfortunately.
