Fandom, I like you. I like you a lot. You're my gateway drug and my anti-drug. You told me that I wasn't alone, that there are others out there like me. I know how you feel. The only reason why I'm still in any kind of fandom at all is because I somehow discovered War!Fandom, which is oddly full of kind and gentle people who are nothing but loving and supportive (seriously, out of everything, war fandom?).

That being said, if cornering yourself off in a part of the network is what you need to do for the health of your systems, I support that. Just remember the channel's always open if you want to come back in.
