D: A little lesson on the numerology of Reborn for sinistera and anyone else who is curious. @_@ Maybe someone did this already but, here's my version. lol

STANDARD counting system:
ichi, nii, san, yon/shi, go, roku, nana/shichi, hachi, kyuu/kuu, jyuu

OLD counting system:
Hi, fu, mi, yo, itsu, muu, nana, ya, kono to
pronounced: hee, foo, mee, yoh, itsu-oo, moo, nana, yah, koh-noh, toh

extra:
zero = rei

(re: for those who know how to count objects in Japanese, think of it like this: 'hi'totsu, 'fu'tatsu, 'mi'ttsu, 'yo'ttsu, etc. Get it?)

That should've clear up a lot already. @_@;;

Let's start from the top of the list:
27: Tsuna
2= two (since Japanese doesn't have the 'tw' sound, it becomes a 'ts' which is the closest)
7= na (short for nana)

59: Gokudera - shortened to Goku
5= go
9= ku

80: Yamamoto - shortened to Yama
8= ya
0= ma (there are several theories for this, but 0 is sometimes called 'maru' which means circle that looks like a zero or slang for zero. . . but then the military reads 0 as maru too. . .)

18: Hibari - shortened to Hiba
1= Hi
8= Ba (sometimes 8 is read as ba or pa. は、ば、ぱ)

84: Basil - shortened to Basi (or Baji for Ba-ji-ru)
8= Ba (as stated above)
4= Ji (same reason as above. し、じ)

594: Kokuyo
5= Ko (same reason as above. こ、ご)
9= ku
4= Yoh

493: Chikusa
4= O_o I actually dunno where the CHI came for this one. I guess cuz it sounds like SHI? If I was the one creating the number system for this, I'll make Chikusa 1093. Chikusa's name means a thousand seeds. So, 1000+93 would make more sense to me. x_x;
9= Ku
3= Sa (short for san)

696/69: Mukuro (or Muku)
6= Mu
9= Ku
6= Ro (short for roku)

966/96: Chrome (or just Kuro for Ku-ro-mu)
9= Ku
6= Ro
6= Mu

56: Colonnello (shortned to Colo)
5= Ko (re: Kokuyo)
6= Ro

39: Squalo (I'm not sure where the heck that came from. O_o; I can see the ku=9 but 3?)
edit- wait. . . I think I got it. Su from Su-rii? Three? LOL PLEASE SAY I'M WRONG. THAT WOULD BE HORRIBLY WTF. LOLOLOL

100: Byakuran
100: Byaku/Hyaku is 100

I wanna make up my own and say 51 is Shoichi. XDDDD
In Japan they use 正 for tallying. It goes by 5s. ^^; And ichi is just 1 so 51. Would that work? LOL XDDDD *DEAD*

86: Haru
8: ha
6: ru (roots from roku)

87: Hana
8: ha
7: na

D: ok? Broken down enough or must I explain more?

edit- Newly added:
33: Sasagawa (Used more for Ryohei than Kyoko)
3: Sa (short for san)

00: Leonardo Lippi
0: Le/Re (short for "Rei")
0: O (like the letter o.)

387/487: Spanner
3: Su (Short for "three"/suri-)
8: Pa
7: Na

4: Su (4 in Chinese. You will see Japanese fandom use 38 more than 48)
8: Pa
7: Na

ALSO! 51: Shouichi is completely made up by me. It's a JOKE (explained above, but not a lot of people would get the reasoning behind it. . .) but it is NOT USED BY JAPANESE FANDOMS so if you see it used somewhere, uh. . . lol sorry. XD
