Some of the locals maybe already heard there was a fire in my building last night. For the rest of the world: there was a fire in my building last night. No one was hurt, and as far as I know only the apartment the fire started in was seriously damaged. It's down the hall from mine and guys, it's charred black all over. I know nothing about how ( Read more... )

Yikes. I'm glad no one was hurt. Fires are scary.

That's so strange that instead of spreading everywhere quickly, the fire apparently chose to remain pretty much in one place and destroy it utterly. That's so...un-fire-like. At least based on my knowledge of how fire works (which isn't exactly immense and all-encompassing but still).

Glad to hear that you're ok.

I guess concrete doesn't catch fire easily, but you'd think there was something in the structures to spread the fire. Not that I'm not happy that wasn't the case!

Thanks ♥

I saw on your twitter there'd been a fire and you and your stuff were okay, but good lord, I didn't realise it was hardcore as that! Bloody hell. I am really glad it ended up being sorted so well - and thankyou for the reminder that my house hasn't updated the what-we-do-if-there's-a-fire plan since the addition of a small child, and given that he's four we should really do that. Like, soon.

*hug, because wow, that must've been pretty freaky to experience*

It was pretty scary for a while but it's crazy how soon you start to forget, since nothing really happened to me or my stuff, you know? I'm not looking for a new apartment because of this or anything. Though yes, absolutely, I get the importance of having a real plan in case of a fire now, especially when you have people too small to take care of themselves in the house!
