hey~ dont worry about your trip!
i can really understand your worries, i went exactly through the same >_<
for sure you will get a culture shock for the first few hours... get worried if everything works out.. and of course you will need time to understand people..

but believe me... japanese can be so nice and polite, just try to talk to them, some of them will be amazed about every single word you are able to say ^^ as long as you dont hide yourself you can make very fast friends, even with communication problems ^^ you will love this country for sure xD
