They are that way for one simple reason Shira... Money and lazyness. There was no profit for them in saving the cat's life. They'd lose money on when you bought them, so why not just let the cat die and sell the other? It'd be cheaper for them. So they didn't lift a finger. Didn't tell you because they couldn't be bothered with a 'worthless' cat
