[PART 2] He is BIGBANG's Daesung
He is a man with heart not cut out for the idol industry. A man who devotes two hours every Sunday to his parish, a man who donates a portion of his every paycheck to various local charities. A man who likes to suffer because he can’t believe in himself enough to believe that he deserves forgiveness. To him, it is much easier to believe in God because God has never looked at him like he was a sinner in the worst possible way.
And like any human would, he let himself be led astray. Let himself become a little too cocky and a little too reckless, so sure of his role in the world that he didn’t consider any other possibility. So when the day came where the blood of one of God’s children stained his hands and the price of someone’s husband, someone’s father, someone’s brother, someone’s son, came crashing down on his head, he dropped to his knees in horror and guilt and a self-hatred so intense he considered claiming another life - his own.
A murderer. He was a murderer. It didn’t matter what the police said, or what his band said, or even what his President ordered him to believe. He had taken the life of a man who could have survived. And what was worse, here he was, walking out of the police station as though he were a free man. He’s not a free man, not anymore. He will always wear the chains of guilt around his wrists and ankles.
In time he will come to accept himself rather than forgive himself, learning to smile again, learning to live again. He will vow to work harder and not be led astray again because he will remember he is God’s Kang Daesung before BIGBANG’s Daesung.
