I am glad you posted this, so many illnesses are not apparent or visible, but still affect our lives in many ways.

LOL my favorite medical TV show is either Kingdom Hospital (BECAUSE it was so fake) or House, haha. I find it amusing when a med student friend/doctor bitches about how fake they are tho, haha. That's TV for ya!

Also a friend of mine has the same problem as you where she can't digest wheat! I had no idea it was called celiac's disease!! She is also lactose intolerant...poor girl. :'( She basically takes pills (enzymes) to help her digest the stuff. I'd go nuts if I had one of those problems. My digestive system is already whacked out as it is, pretty much. If I had that on top of it...ugh. @___@; so, in short, I applaud you!!

Haha yeah. My brother loves House and I just can't stand it.

Thanks. It's pretty easy to just stay away from the stuff I can't have. The hard part was when I didn't know what was causing it and sick all the time.

Not as weird as you think. i read this in dear abby ovwer 10 years ago and several womens mags. I've met folks with this condition.

But I am confused. Is it just wheat or ALL glueten?

Folks suffering from the wheat/gluten allergy-illness you have to go to rice flour. There is a 1/2 an aisle in Trader Joes and Whole foods that are gluten free.

Dinner out? - try Sushi- no wheat.

Steak house would be fine.

It's all gluten. Yeah it's really not weird at all. In the UK children are tested for it before they go to school it's so common. Luckily I live on meat anyway, so it's not too big a deal anymore.
