Excellent essay. I just started watching CSI and this gave me a great picture of all the bits I've missed. I've been having trouble figuring Sara out but from your description I missed quite a few Very Important Moments that would make a lot of the later stuff make sense :) It really only took one or two episodes to cement my Grissom love. Thanks!
