The Hunted
Ellis is wanted for the death for Professor Schneider. After a discussion with a fortune teller which Ellis calls 'grandma', she sets off on a journey, only knowing that she wishes to head south to a place called Winay Marka. She is talented with card games and seems to have powers that she herself doesn't know about.
The Hunter
Nadie is a trained Bounty Hunter who has been employed by the mysterious "Blue-Eyes" to observe Ellis until she is given orders to do otherwise. She is talented in using guns and when fighting, she has the notion of saying “If you have any last words, say them now.”. The fortune teller that she meets with when chasing Ellis entrusts Nadie with protecting Ellis and taking her to Winay Marka. As the series goes on, she proves that she will do anything to protect Ellis, even if it causes her life.
Ellis's Feelings
Ellis seems scared of Nadie at first, but as the show goes on, her feelings grow to those of friendship and even love. She doesn't really understand some of these feelings, even fighting with Nadie one episode because of them
However, she really cares for Nadie whenever she gets hurt, even invoking her powers unconsciously to heal her when she is seriously hurt by a bullet twice in the show. This shows that her powers happen when someone she likes gets hurt or when something she doesn't want to happen, happens. Sometimes the powers happen randomly too.
By the end of the show, Ellis admits her love for Nadie, and what she loves about her. Wherever this is meant as a friendly love or more isn't certain but scenes such as the infamous 'do we look like a husband and wife' scene lets the viewer figure it out themselves
Nadie's Feelings
Nadie seems to think of Ellis as a sweet and innocent girl, and her only job is to observe her until told otherwise. However, this all changes as the girls gets along in the later episodes, Nadie realises that she would do anything to protect Ellis and that she cared for her very much.
Nadie never outright speaks her feelings towards Nadie, even though it is implied that she tries too. But, it is seen in the way she cares and looks after her that there is a hidden feeling of friendship, even love there.
Rosenburg even implies in the last episode that Ellis loves Nadie, which is why he wanted to kill her to invoke Ellis's true powers so that he could use them for no good.
The Future
After killing Rosenburg, the girls move onto a new place, where a couple give them work in a shop and where Nadie and Ellis meet two new people, one of which seems to like Nadie, when she jokes about Ellis marrying him.
But by the end of the last episode, Ellis tells the couple that she was happy to hear the news that they could stay with them, even though they found out who they really were, but Ellis wanted to move on and go on a journey with Nadie because 'she loved when nadie's eyes glow.'
What happens to them after this, is up to the viewers to figure out, but I would think that their friendship or love for each other would grow more as they go forth to find Lirio.
