A shame that this book didn't get spun into a series. This could have, in my opinion, matched the NIMH or Redwall books in their mystical animals/kemono feel. You've especially gotta love Mus himself, who as a mouse is as clever as any of his kind, yet still the innocent that we'd expect him to be.
