The persecution of the Kurds often reminds me of what they did to the Armenian Christians at Musa Dagh. There is a great book called The Forty Days of Musa Dagh about that event during World War 1. The book was a HUGE success (written in the thirties by Franz Werfel), and was bought by hollywood and was about to be filmed when Turkey got angry...and for the benefit of international relations...the movie was scrapped and never made...
I wonder if anyone in modern Hollywood would pick up the reigns on a sure to be oscar calibre movie about Christians being persecuted? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. :) I hightly doubt Tom Hanks and the gang would film it, rather than their Da Vinci code...
