This is my story for the June Bug Challenge. Thanks to ephemera_pop, llamabitchyo, pensnest and trumpeterofdoom (who knows everything), for all their help, comments and story wrangling.

practise these principles in all our affairs - because the road doesn't end after twelve steps.

I enjoyed that a great deal--I like how mature AJ is, and I draw little hearts around Nick (such a great BFF). Lance is hot and also portrayed realistically. Joey isn't made into the complete bad guy, which also pleases me. The little glimpses of the other BSB guys made me smile, too.

I had so much fun with Nick in this. When I first came up with the idea for the story, he wasn't in it in any significant way. Then I added the scene where they're together in the hotel, and all the other scenes just snowballed from there. Every time I found a problem with the story, it seemed to be fixable by adding more Nick. (Which I think is something that could be said for many problems in the world.)

I'm really glad you liked Joey, too. I hate any character bashing, but Joey-bashing makes me especially sad. (Almost as sad as Brian-bashing, in fact.) I did feel like I'd rather short-changed the other Boys, so I'm happy you enjoyed the little bits which were there.

I can't get to your site to read it again, but that's okay, I have copies of the beta versions and I loved it very much and it's awesome that it's now posted. :)

Would you like me to e-mail you a copy of the final file? It's mostly the same, but I did tweak a couple of bits after I posted the last version of the AJ/Nick scene.

stupidly i sent you an e-mail without checking to for comment posting first.. i feel slightly stupid, but hopefully you won't mind the multiple gushyness of warm fuzzy comments. :) i loved it. it was great. as i've said before, this was my first aj/lance which was only appropriate since absinthe makes the heart grow fonder was my first trickc and syrupy lambs was my first lambs story. if anyone seeing this hasn't read those two... get to it! chop, chop! anyway, i loved the way lance and aj both deal with their love for joey, but don't let it get in the way of their own. also, my favorite scene, was where nick lets aj try to flip his 99% straight amazing ass. priceless

Nick was so much fun to write in this. It was one of those times when a character really did just take over the story once I let them into it.
