There's nothing wrong with taking care of yourself. The sooner the better if you ask me. I do believe people can make strides. I had a fast heartbeat when i was younger due to being sedentary and asthma and meds, but managed to reverse it. My heartbeart doing normal activities (not running around but not sedentary) is around 63 bpm when it used to be in the high 80s just resting.
