the same thing happens to me when I try to post an entry on a community that isn't my own, like when I try to link back to my own journal.
if you look at the post in HTML, do you see anything out of the ordinary? like something you didn't type in the Rich Text? (not counting the < b> and stuff like that. if everything looks like how it should be, try to delete everything and then paste everything into it again. I don't know if you type your fic on LJ or if you first type it in Word or something, but if you copy it out of Word --> LJ never works for me when I copy it out of Word into Rich Text. I always type the html stuff in Word, and then just post it into the HTML function on LJ.
most of the time it's just LJ being a bitch though ;_____;
I don't know if you want to, but you could send the thing you want to post to me, so I can see if it works on my account and maybe solve the problem...
