CV: OoE update: I am through the big plot point and storming the castle, w00t! I also got roughed up pretty good by the easiest boss in the game, but wth, what else is food for, right? (I guess I'm a klutz or something, because I get grabbed by stuff that isn't supposed to grab you. Nobody told me Gravediggers could do that, and now I swear

Case in point, this comic I found in the Castlevania Dungeon makes me laugh every time I see it, because it is *exactly* what I did for a while during that fight:

But anyway, yes, Nitesco is pretty. x^^

I've taken to posting about Ecclesia at GameSpot mostly, but I'm pretty close to fighting Death now. He actually doesn't look so bad, but I'll probably freak out when I get there anyway. I think my favorite glyph might be Melio Ascia; I've always loved the Axes since SotN...
The Lupin book is "The Secret of Sarek." It wasn't immediately obvious that it was him (you know how he is), but I came upon a page like "Yup, that's the author; this even sounds like Lupin putting the smack down on the defeated villain. ::blinkblink; search concatenated text:: There's a reason for that...."

But I heartily agree with you about the Axe in general as a sub-weapon in Castlevania games. I think it was probably Super Castlevania 4 for me when I caught on to the advantages of the Axe (hey, no more having to try and jump and flail about in an attempt to hit something overhead! What a concept!), but from then on I almost unfailingly have the Axe as the default sub-weapon, unless of course a situation comes along where I know using something else would be more effective.
