I've had this dream before. It's still strange---to see my mother and sisters so far away.

I wonder if things have changed.

[ooc; bed then work <3 more tags later ^^; <333 ]

What dream did you have?

Are there any....good things that happen?

... I guess it depends on how you look at them. Once cake fell from the sky, and while I enjoyed that, others hated it... Sometimes you can meet good people here, too, but that can be a bad thing as well...

...how is meeting 'good people' a 'bad' thing?

I'm sorry, I know these are probably obvious questions for most.

People.

It's fine. I guess usually it wouldn't be, but because this is another world, you can meet people from worlds other than your own, and... when one of you returns home, there's the chance you'll never see one another again...

Perhaps it is better to meet than to have never met at all though?

[She believes this, in part because she believes their conversation---any she has while here as she remembers it, must be worth the time...must be worth having happened at all.]

Maybe... I don't think it's worth never knowing someone just because they might never be seen again...

Especially here, there's no telling if you'd know each other for months or only a few days.

I would take a day over no day, I'm absolutely certain of it.

That's a good attitude to have here. Have you met that Tristan guy again?

No...though, perhaps he just...well, he might be busy.

[But she sounds a bit sad at the thought. They didn't speak much, but the familiarity of him was something she couldn't put into words and couldn't figure out how to approach. Knowing better now, or perhaps only thinking she does, it is a shame she doesn't have the chance to.]

...Right. Some people don't check these right away, so you might just see him later.

[ Comforting people when they're sad was never his strong suit, but he doesn't want her to arrive and become sad so quickly. ]

[ It doesn't take much where the starling is concerned for now, and the effort is appreciated as evidenced by an uplift in her tone, a softness. ]

You're right. There seem to be so many people here.

[ And Tyr is happy for that change in tone. After having two friends become so sad by losing their friends, he doesn't want to make another person sad just by the thought. ]

Yeah. It can be hard to check your device during work, too... Are you doing okay, though?

[ She turns on the video as taught just moments before by one Rudy Miller!

This way she can smile at him. It's meant so much to her to be able to see expressions as much as feel them and she is young and light enough to believe this would be true of others, across worlds and species alike. ]

I am. People have been very kind. Thank you.

[ Tyr turns on the video function as well and smiles back. Other than by the sound of her voice, he couldn't tell a thing about her.

...Are those wings? ]

You're welcome... I'm glad you've found people to help you out.

My name's Tyr. You?

[ In truth, the star doesn't quite know what to make of the wings either; stars do not typically have them and these ones seem only a part of the dress. Almost as if the City couldn't figure out who she was when it brought her in. Ah well, no matter. When she catches where his glance has gone, she frowns a little at them, strange as they are to her and thinking they belong more likely on birds than anything else as she reaches behind her to where fingers intuitively find a clasp that unfastens them. Just like that she is just a girl with long hair and a white dress, simple as can be.

Well, except for the fact that she glows, but a star can't help what she is. ]

Yvaine, well, in some places, that is what I'm called.

[The brief amendment is made with a secretive smile though she does not at all mean for it to be.]
