Derek is the son of Julie, an ex-co-worker/friend of mine. He is 17 years old and has been playing in a band, Mail Order Bride (I'm pretty sure they have a Myspace) for a few years now.

I don't know if Derek is pretty. Last time I saw him was over a year ago and he was in that gangly, rocker teenage phase. I would say 'cute' instead of 'pretty'. :)
