The Olympic torch relay came through the GTA (Greater Toronto Area)/Toronto today. A friend & I went to City Hall to see. The place was packed. We got there around 6:40. The torch was scheduled to arrive at 7pm. It arrived more like 8pm -- supposedly a protest held up the relay. We got a pretty good view from the upper walkway but we couldn't ( Read more... )

i was there too, but at the bottom. thought it was really cool that everyone was standing up there.

it was soooo cold but definitely worth it!

It looked so packed when we arrived so that's why we went up. Turned out to be a good idea! We came in off of Queen and never even made it past the rink!

COOL!!! And everything is so pretty!! You and R need to take pictures of all the deocrations around town for me.

Nathan Phillips Square is the area right in front of City Hall. By the Eaton Centre.

I will see what I can do about taking pictures of the lights around town :)

Very cool! I wanted to see the torch when I lived in south Florida but couldn't get off work. I love the Olympics.

I totally get it! I plan out may TV schedules and when they're on the other side of the world, I wake up in the middle of the night to watch live hockey games. :) I was so hoping they were going to come to Chicago in 2016 because then I'd finally be able to go see something in person. Oh well, another dream to keep chasing.

Thanks! It was quite the big to-do. And the way the emcee was talking, one would've thought that it was the Toronto Olympics LOL
