Title: Learning To… (3/3) Pairing: Minho x Jonghyun, and past Minho x OC Rating: PG-13 Warnings: Slight cursing, trigger warning for depressive themes, recreational drugs Final Word Count: 21,568
I'm not good at writing reviews, but I wanted to let you know that really enjoyed your story. Minho's journey to find himself is so touching and the four other's personal experiences where really a propos. All of it kind of resonated with me and I'm grateful that reading your writing made me think about my own life's choices. Thank you!
Thank you for reading and leaving a comment! I wanted to write a story about self-discovery that deals with some common adult growing pains. I'm glad that it resonated with you ^^
i need to say something about this because i can definately relate with minho in this fic. i guess i feel the same pressures which minho had, but i can relate to the other 4 in one way or another. the way you wrote it made me think about their feelings, as well as mine, towards life in general. i also like how the plot isn't too focused on minho falling in love with someone, and more about him finding out who he really is. anyway, i can't really describe how much i liked your story and all the little details because writing comments isn't my forte, but i'm really glad that i read this.
Thank you for taking the time to read and comment! It makes me happy that others enjoyed my story.
I really wanted to write a story about self-discovery with an emphasis on finding your own way in life. Romance was also originally in the mix, with Minho and Jonghyun falling in love, but I felt that it would make it too ideal and cliche. Life is never that ideal and cliche, you know?
Wow. What made this fic for me was how relatable minhos situation was. Don't we all feel a little lost at one point or another? I love how he got to meet all these people during his trip. I loved everyone's stories and their advice for Minho. I just wish we saw more of jonghos relationship but i still love this with my soul.
Thank you for reading! I'm very pleased that so many of you were able to relate to Minho. I know I definitely do (and currently still do). I wanted the story to have a sense of freedom and spontaneity that comes with a roadtrip, because isn't that part of the fun? Meeting random people and making memories with them?
Everyone came with a theme and were part of Minho's healing process. It wasn't that he was necessarily getting advice from them (well maybe minus Jinki), but that he was able to heal himself a bit with each person that he met.
Alas, if I had more time, I would have expanded on Jongho's relationship. I wanted them to have more interactions and delve more into Jonghyun's time in Busan, but I'm happy with how they ended up working out and the open ending. Minho was meeting these strangers on the trip and they provided him something - shelter, advice, etc, and Minho was finally at a place where he could provide something - a ride, company, kindness - to Jonghyun.
