Jonghyun avoids looking at Minho completely, not strong enough to accept the gaping hole in the younger boy’s chest because how can Minho still pretend he’s still whole when he’s obviously not?
Key uses it as a reason to be angry, to attack without warning because he never once thought Minho could be so utterly stupid, but he’s proven wrong when Minho selflessly gives up a part so intricate to himself, so readily, just because someone somewhere else mattered more.
Jinki says nothing but he tries so very hard to patch up the bloodied wound, to salve the crusted edges as though trying to ease the pain he himself doesn’t feel because Minho can’t seem to realise he’s hurt (and that hurts the rest of them so much more).
Taemin is the only one who dares clamber over their leader and stare down at Minho in the dead of the night before running his fingers lightly across the older boy’s chest to feel the damp cloth stained with blood.
On the other side of town, Nickhun sleeps soundly with Minho’s heart in his hands and if he is honest with himself, Nickhun knows exactly how he came to posses it.
