[MOD] New Strike Policy for Challenges and Events
Due to some recent abuse of the extension policy during community events, we have decided to implement a three strike policy for our community events and challenges, primarily SHINee Fic Mix and SHINee Secret Santa. This policy will be much like the one already in place in the community. If three strikes are incurred by a person they will be blacklisted for the duration of one event year. For example if your third strike occurred during the Secret Santa exchange, then you would be blacklisted through the Secret Santa exchange next year.
Strikes occur during SSS and SFM for:
• Turning in a fic late: 1 strike
• Requiring an extension (outside of extenuating circumstances like a death in the family): 1 strike
• Dropping before the first draft: 1 strike
• Dropping before the final draft: 2 strikes
• Missing/Blowing off the first draft deadline: 2 strikes
• Dropping by missing the final deadline (no notification): 3 strikes
Strikes occur during Duets for:
• Turning in a fic late: 1 strike
• Dropping before the first draft without consent or knowledge of partner: 1 strike
• Dropping before the final draft without consent or knowledge of partner: 2 strikes
• Missing/Blowing off the first draft deadline: 2 strikes
Strikes occur during all other challenges and events by:
• Turning in a fic late: 1 strike
• Missing/Blowing off the first draft deadline: 2 strikes
• Dropping by missing the final deadline (no notification): 3 strikes
Please note that extensions are allowed without penalty for every event except SFM and SSS.
Strikes are cumulative throughout the year and will carry with you until the time of your first one in next calendar year. For example if you obtain your first strike during our SFM challenge, your strikes will accumulate until the next SFM when they will be reset.
This is not to discourage participation but to encourage commitment. Please remember that when you sign up for these events you are making a promise. For events such as SSS, people are counting on you as a writer to produce a work for them and it is unfortunate when works are late or not completed. We hope that this will aid with that issue.
